Introduction to Plants of Northwest WI

Presented by Mike Heim

Northwestern Wisconsin is rich in plant diversity, due to its varied soils and topography, but especially since it is a

transition zone where biomes meet and blend. Mike will discuss the history of our woodland plant communities, long-term

threats from human impact, the kinds of plant communities here, and more. If the weather cooperates, Mike will also lead us

on a walk around the Library Nature Trail.
